Of Hamburg, NY. October 24, 2023 beloved husband of 66 years to Sarah A (née Vonderlinden) Saunders; loving father of Scott (Lynn), Mark (Cindy) Saunders and Cheryl (Scott) Butler; also cherished grandfather to Matt (Katie) Shane, Molly, Scotty, Vonde, Derrick, Brad (Daniele) and Christian as well as three great grandchildren; Sloan, Sadie and Reese. He is also survived by two sisters Judy (John) Thomas and Sarah Jane Olbrich and 6 nieces and nephews. Mr. Saunders was the mayor of the Village of Hamburg from 1967 through 1971 and an Erie County legislator from 1971 through 1975. A celebration of David's life will be held on Sunday, November 5 from Trinity Episcopal Church. 261 East Main Street Hamburg at 1:00 PM. Flowers gratefully declined.
