Rosemary Villarini

Rosemary Ann (née Chamberlain) Villarini, 89, of Orchard Park, New York, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 5, 2024, surrounded by loved ones.

Rosemary was born in Lackawanna, New York, on March 3, 1934, to Dwight and Rose Mary (née Swiatek) Chamberlain, and was one of seven siblings, including Virginia, Charles, John, Ray, James and Paul. She graduated from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing and was certified as a Registered Professional Nurse by the University of the State of New York’s Education Department. She went on to work at Mercy Hospital, which is where she met Dr. Carlos Villarini, during his internship there.

Rosemary and Carlos married on July 7, 1956, at Our Lady of Victory National Shrine & Basilica in Lackawanna. After living briefly in Key West, Florida, they returned to make their forever home in the Buffalo area. They shared nearly 57 wonderful years together, welcoming seven children of their own: Carl, Lisa, Robert, Carmen, Dean, Marisa and their youngest, Russell, a bright light dimmed much too soon at the age of 40.

In addition to her family, Rosemary’s passions included travel, reading, cooking and singing. Over the years, she and Carlos enjoyed numerous trips around the world, both with their children, family and friends, and on their own. A devout Catholic throughout her life, Rosemary shared her angelic soprano voice with the parishioners at her church, both from the pew and as a member of the choir, most recently at St. John Vianney in Orchard Park.

Beloved by her family and her community, Rosemary is survived by her children, Carl (Sue) Villarini, Lisa (Charlie) Palmer, Robert (MaryEllen) Villarini, Carmen (Chuck) Kluckhohn, Dean (Jodi) Villarini, Marisa (Lee) Atendido, and Russell’s wife, Julie Villarini; her 18 grandchildren, Merritt (Jay) D’Angelo, James Villarini, Courtland (Shelby) Palmer, Randall Palmer, Eric (Cassandra) Palmer, Reed Palmer, Samantha Villarini, Amy Villarini, Katie Villarini, Nikki Villarini, Robert Villarini, Emily (Paul) Morrow, Hannah (Adam) Dings, Karl Kluckhohn, William Bradley Villarini, Daniel Bradley Villarini, Madelyn Atendido and Sydney Atendido; her 11 great grandchildren, Hannah Grace, Remi, Max, Sloane, Aria, Onyx, Rowan, Cameron, Salena, Olivia and Ava; her brothers, James (Sharon) Chamberlain and Paul (Mia) Chamberlain; and her many nieces and nephews.

Family will be present to receive friends on Wednesday, February 14, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Loomis, Offers & Loomis Funeral Home, 207 Main St., Hamburg. A funeral mass will take place on Thursday, February 15, at 10 a.m. at St. John Vianney, 2950 Southwestern Blvd., Orchard Park. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Russell Villarini engineering scholarship fund at the Hamburg High School, please send to Villarini & Henry Law Firm 16 Main Street Hamburg, NY 14075
