As I’ve read all the many heartfelt memories and sentiments about Jamie, one thing is so clear. He lived the kind of life we all aspire to live. Jamie lived for others and for their good. Never about himself.

For the many years I worked alongside him at AutoTrader…and then Cox Auto…we never left a discussion without talking about Kristen and his kids. And Jamie never forgot to ask about my family also. During one particularly hard moment at work a few years back, one that didn’t go our way, Jamie had nothing but thanks, gratitude, and optimism for a better day to come. And that day did come just as he said it would.

One day, and one way…

I was working at a car dealership as a used car manager,, and one day Jamie walked in and asked to see me. From the moment he sat down I was impressed by his knowledge and enthusiasm and signed up for his service on the spot!! Over the next few months of him coming in to service our dealership, we became friends. And a month or two later when he stopped in, I thought it was for a service call. But instead, he invited me out to lunch and when we got there, he wanted to tell me there was a position open at auto trader That he thought I would be good for so I applied and was hired…

I worked with Jamie in a limited capacity, but would frequently see him at company events. Jamie was one of those people you were always genuinely happy to see. He'd immediately put a smile on your face simply with his presence and welcoming demeanor. He was a great colleague and person to us all. Jamie will be sorely missed. We're all thinking about Jamie's family during this difficult time.

As I sit here reading the beautiful messages from Jamie’s work colleagues, I am given a window I wouldn’t otherwise have known, his professional life. I am not surprised, but I’m blown away with the heartfelt and truly personal messages left here. I feel one thing is common in all the messages; Jamie was truly authentic and took an interest in every single person he came in contact with. I knew Jamie in a more friendly context, as he is the husband of my closest friend, Kristen. The Jamie I know is the man who simply adores his wife, boys, and life in general! The thing I always bonded with about Jamie was his love of the preparation of foo…

I met Jamie on an Autotrader sales blitz where he got stuck with me as his partner for a week. Within about five minutes, I knew he was one of those guys you just can’t help but like.

That one week turned into a 21-year friendship. The impact he had on me was amazing. The way he was always so supportive and genuine, INCREDIBLE… I’ll carry those with me forever.

I love you Man, was something we said as our calls would end, we both genuinely meant it.

Jamie was a proud husband, a devoted father, and a loyal friend to so many of us. He made so many of us better people.

I’ll miss you, my friend. Thank you…
