Joan (Joni) Marie Markey (nee Robinson) 65 of Buffalo, NY. Passed away July 4th 2025 peacefully and pain free after a long battle with Lupus and its various complications.

Joni is remembered as a strong woman who was not afraid to speak her mind. A go getter who as a young mother went back to school earning both her bachelors and masters degrees and becoming a teacher, a life long dream of hers. She was always the life of the party and could make anyone laugh including the nurses and doctors in her last days.

She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years Daniel and their two daughters Cathrine and Theresa, her son in laws Christopher and Bradley and her 5 grandchildren Eliora, Michaiah, Caedmon, Kennedii and Aarohi.

Her brothers Gregg, Ronnie, Robert, Rand, Patrick, and Dale, sisters Kathy, Colleen, Barbara and Susie as well as her lifelong friend Mary. Preceded in death by her Mother Joan, Father Norman, brother Norman Jr and sister Sharon.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 9th from 3-7 PM at LOOMIS, OFFERS & LOOMIS INC. FUNERAL HOME (Memorial Chapel) 1820 Seneca Street Buffalo, NY 14210, where a Celebration of Life service will be held at 6:30 PM.

I will miss our chats together and reconnecting since childhood. All those years we missed together but we were able to recently chat and share years of memories together in Canada, family history, health and our current family lives. I feel such a loss and you were such a trooper with your current health situation. I will miss you cousin. Until we meet again. Prayers to the family as I know you will miss her so very much. Love, Dan & Ruth Garza and Family

So sorry for your family. She was a great lady! We were always going to get together in Florida but we never did. Worked with her at MLK. I was still playing cards with her on the internet. She and your family will be in our prayers. She was a fighter and will be greatly missed!
