Lois Virginia Ray

Lois Virginia Ray (nee Griffith) of Boston, NY passed away Thursday, March 28, 2024 at her home of 32 years. Born May 12, 1929 to Bessie M. (Applebee) and Willard B. Griffith, she and her 5 sisters grew up on Spaulding Street, in South Buffalo. Lois graduated from South Park High School in 1947 and on April 14, 1950 she married Robert James Ray. Loving mother of 5, she moved 9 times fulfilling Robert’s job promotions. Retirement found the two settling back into Western NY to be near their youngest son Douglas Stuart.
Survivors include 4 children, Robert Ross Ray, Michael Willard Ray, Linda Lee Pfaff and husband Ronald, and James Thomas Ray; 3 sisters, Carolyn B. Anderson, Ruth L. Reinhard and Florence G. Mortellaro; beloved by 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren as well as her very special nieces and nephews.
Lois was preceded in death by husband of 47 years, Robert James; youngest son Douglas Stuart; two sisters, Jean A. Koepka and Anne M. Bullock; daughter in-law Charlaine M. Buenger Ray; grandson Nicholas C. Pfaff and her dearest great granddaughter Morgan Caleb Underwood.
Family will receive friends on Friday, April 26th from 4:00 to 6:00 PM with a Memorial Service immediately following at 6:00 p.m. at LOOMIS, OFFERS & LOOMIS INC. FUNERAL HOME (Hamburg Chapel) 207 Main Street. Lois will take her rightful place alongside her husband Robert and family at Restland Cemetery, Dallas, TX.
