JULIAN- Janice Delight (nee Jaquith)

Of Hamburg, NY. February 14, 2022. Beloved wife of Frank J. Julian Jr., for 55 years; dear mother of Frank J. (Lynn) Julian III; also survived by two grandchildren, Katelyn A. Germain and Frank J. Julian IV and three step-grandchildren, John H. (Sara) Callahan, Kelsie A. Becker and Jessica L. Becker; she was predeceased by her mother Ruth Jaquith and her father Merle Jaquith, one sister, Leone (Gordon) Hawk and one brother, Ronald (Anita) Jaquith; several nieces and nephews also survive. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Hamburg, NY. She was born in Sherman, NY as a daughter of a dairy farming family. Her family was also involved in grape farming in the Westfield area.


Janice is a past member of Hamburg Business Women, the Hamburg Women’s Club, the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Post #527 and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Lake Erie Italian Club, both of which she served as treasurer. She was a past member of the Alter Guild of Trinity Episcopal Church. She was also a former committee member of Boy Scout Troop #506 on which she enthusiastically provided assistance to the troop in attaining their scouting goals. For most of her life, she was a very dedicated, professional, private secretary employed by the National Grape Cooperative, Westfield Sommers Corporation in Westfield, NY and others private concerns. Next to her family, she was fully dedicated to her profession.


In addition to her caring family, Janice was a devoted homemaker and enjoyed cooking and baking. She also had hobbies including arts and crafts. She was very proficient in the art of Danish Needle Painting. This is the process of producing very detailed landscapes and portraits through the use of a very fine yarn on a satin cloth background including the use of of some pastels in certain areas. Much of her work was displayed at the Erie County Fair for which she received several 1st place awards.
