HAYES- Edward P. III “Eddie”

of Lockport, NY. June 20, 2026. Beloved husband of Cheryl Hayes (née Walck); cherished father of Noelle Urbach, Nathan Urbach and Laura (Gerald) Hayes-LaFlamme; dearest brother of Michael (Marianne) Hayes, Ronald (Cheryl) Hayes, Patricia (Richard) Alberalla, Dorothy (Douglas) Moses and Sally (Michael) Tenhagen; loving son of the late Edward P. Hayes Jr. and Sybilla Hayes; also survived by nieces, nephews, in-laws, family and friends. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 24th from 3-7 PM at LOOMIS, OFFERS & LOOMIS INC. FUNERAL HOME (Memorial Chapel) 1820 Seneca Street Buffalo, NY 14210. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 25th at 10 AM at St. John XXIII RC Church- West Seneca, NY. Please assemble at church. Flowers gratefully declined. Memorial contributions in Edward’s honor may be made to the Niagara County SPCA or Lockport CARES.

Ed (Eddie) was a kind soul who loved freely. He will be remembered for his light and joking nature. Ed was always available as a support, to give guidance, and lend his wisdom. He was a known storyteller. Those close to him will always remember the tales of his Boy Scout troop, the Buffalo Club, Algonquin, and growing up in West Seneca. He was a passionate educator and cared deeply for his students and their futures. At Sweet Home High School, he ran the Chess Club, Games Club, and taught Technology and Robotics. Ed was a leader in the ECC Tech Wars, which this past year hosted over 900 local students in its yearly competition. Eddie enjoyed spending time at the Lake House and traveling internationally with his beloved Cheryl. Most importantly, Ed loved and was loved by his family and friends, who will miss him so dearly.
