Of South Buffalo, NY, January 24, 2022. Beloved wide of the late Norman R. Harrington. Cherished mother of Joan (Daniel) Markey, Richard “Ron” (Kathleen) Harrington, Gregg (Kery) Harrington, Zan Dale Robinson, and Rand R. Robinson; loving stepmother of Norman R. Jr., Kathleen, Susan, Barbara, Robert E. III, Colleen, Patrick and the late Sharon; dearest sister of William (Irene), James (Linda), Joseph, and David (Vera) Knight, Patricia Reich, and the late John (Marylou) Knight; stepmother of Norman R. Jr., Kathleen, Susan, Barbara, Robert E. III, Colleen, Patrick and the late Sharon. Joan was cherished by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Family with receive friend Thursday January 27, from 4-7 PM at LOOMIS OFFERS & LOOMIS INC. FUNERAL HOME (Memorial Chapel), 1820 Seneca St., where a service will be held at 7 PM. Joan was a lifetime member of the David McKeever American Legion Auxiliary Unit #64, where she was chairwoman of many committees on her quest to become Unit President. While on the unit level, Joan held the position of treasurer for many years. She was also an active member in the Erie County Committee, where she chaired in many positions while moving up the ranks to hold the position of County President, which she served from June 2005 to June 2006.
