Of Hamburg, NY. Passed away peacefully on May 30, 2025 at the age of 86. Beloved husband of the late Gail Gracon (née Daubert); loving father of Steven, Gary (Cindy), Jennifer (John) Carnevale and David (Crina); cherished PaPa of Joshua (Hayley) Rogers and Elijah Obrochta; adored G-Pa of Bennett, Josie and Ellory Rogers. John was born on March 31, 1939 in Toronto, Canada to his parents Kathryn and John Gracon; loving brother of the late Gail (late William) Magnan, late Elizabeth Millington and Steven (Myrna) Gracon; also survived by loving nieces, nephews and friends. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 4th from 4-8 PM at LOOMIS, OFFERS & LOOMIS INC. FUNERAL HOME (Hamburg Chapel) 207 Main Street, where a service will be held on Thursday, June 5th at 10 AM. John worked on the S.S. Keewatin Steamship in the upper Great Lakes and in the U.S. Coast Guard on the Dewey Line in Alaska. John retired from the Town of Hamburg Police Department as an Assistant Chief after a 33 year career. Mr. Gracon was a member of the Toy Train Society, American Legion and W.A.R.P. The family wishes to express gratitude to the staff of Fox Run of Orchard Park for the loving care of John over the years. Flowers are gratefully declined, memorial contributions in John’s honor may be made to the Fox Run Employee Appreciation Fund or the Great Lakes Museum- S.S. Keewatin Museum.
