It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Salvatore “Sal” Castro Jr. on April 23, 2025. He was a devoted husband, beloved father, treasured grandfather, and cherished friend. He leaves behind his loving wife, Joan Castro (née Parsons); his children, Salvatore “Sam” (Sarah) Castro III and Christina (Chris) Kensy; and his adored grandchildren, Sophia, Sonia, Adelyn, Jayden, and Maxyn, who knew him lovingly as Papa “PF”.
Sal was the dear brother of Antoinette (James) Asztalos and Josette (John) Dickinson, and is also remembered fondly by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Monday, April 28, from 4 to 8 PM at Loomis, Offers & Loomis Inc. Funeral Home (Memorial Chapel), 1820 Seneca Street, Buffalo, NY 14210. A Celebration of Life will be held the following day, Tuesday, April 29 at 10 AM, at Fellowship Wesleyan Church, 1645 Southwestern Blvd., West Seneca, NY 14224. Please gather directly at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial donations be made in Sal’s honor to Fellowship Wesleyan Church Worship Music Development Fund.
Sal was a vibrant, fun-loving man who embraced life with passion. He found joy in fishing, golfing, playing the trumpet, sharing his knowledge through health and safety training, and preparing Sunday sauce. His quick wit and playful humor brought smiles to those around him, and he had a gift for keeping everyone on their toes.
Sal's love for his family and friends was immeasurable, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
