Brian Dean Cox (1959-2024)

Brian Dean Cox, age 64, of Akron, passed away on October 8, 2024. Brian passed in the comfort of his home, with family by his side, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Brian loved fishing, boating, and spending time with his labrador retrievers, who he affectionately referred to as “his girls.”

Loyal, hardworking and always there for his friends, Brian was a man of few words, but when he spoke, his words carried value, humor and wisdom.

Brian is survived by his sisters Wendy Hinners and husband Charlie of Meriden, CT and Terry Weingand and husband Richard of Springfield, IL, his lifelong friend, Clifford Swenden and wife Teresa of Lockport, NY, and his second “dad,” Harold Huehn of Florida. Brian is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Services for Brian will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center of Buffalo or Hospice Buffalo.
