In Loving Memory of

Howard Charles Braymiller, II

January 29, 1946 – August 14, 2025

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Howard Braymiller, a devoted husband and brother, a cherished father and grandfather, a respected businessman, beloved pillar of the Village of Hamburg community. He passed away peacefully on August 14, surrounded by his loving family at the age of 79.

Born in Buffalo, NY on January 29, 1946, Howard grew up in the Village of Hamburg spending his days at the business his father opened in 1945, Braymiller’s Lanes. It was a second home to him, learning to bowl at the age of 5, and having his mother Dorothy Braymiller managing the restaurant. Howard built a life rooted in family and the community he proudly called home. Howard was an intelligent man, who believed in tradition, and worked hard to honor his family name and legacy.

Howard became the proud owner of Braymiller’s lanes in 1971 and later ran the business with his son, Howard “Howie” Charles Braymiller III. Under their leadership, it became more than just a local establishment- it became a community landmark. Many in the community have memories rooted at Braymiller’s Lanes either working there, celebrating milestones, meeting friends for a round of bowling, or coming to catch up with Howard and others. Howard loved talking to everyone that came in. He knew everyone that came in and if he didn’t, then he made an effort to know them.

Howard was an avid golfer, spending time outside his family and business at the golf course. He was a staple at Springville and Wanaka Country Clubs, and cherished the memories of time spent on the range. He also loved to fish, and on vacations would often take his children and grandchildren to the lake to try to catch a big musky fish.

Howard is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years Dianne Braymiller. Together they raised a family that was his greatest pride and joy. He leaves behind his sister, Donna Cocca, and late stepbrother Lee Braymiller. Survived by his beloved children: Howard Braymiller III, late Aimee Braymiller, Carrie Valentine, and Sarah Birchenough; and his adored grandchildren: Quintin Krause, Owen Birchenough, and Ethan Birchenough. His legacy will live on through their lives, values, and stories.

To honor Howard’s wishes, there will be no funeral services.
